‘Arcane’ successfully champions queer :

Viktor initially wasn't interested in Jayce himself, only what he could've been working on that could cause such a massive explosion. Jayce vehemently insists that it's not just a theory, and that he's seen for himself how much good magic can do for the world, but that he'll never be able to prove it because "no one believed me".

Future Arcane sequels are. Viktor being asexual doesn't mean he can't feel romantic love, which makes Linke's statement questionable. Jayce protests that he isn't dangerous, but Viktor dismisses his complaints with "that's for the Council to decide" and gives Sheriff Greyson the go-ahead to arrest him.

Viktor explains that he wanted to do more with his life than just be an assistant, he wanted to do something to make the world a better place -- as he believes a scientist should -- and that he believes "this hextech dream of yours has the potential to do that".

Jayce is still hesitant on the grounds that "no one thinks it can be done", but Viktor simply advises him that "When you're going to change the world, don't ask for permission" and holds out his discarded wristband. Viktor later attends Jayce's trial, and he's intrigued by Jayce's admission that he was trying to create magic.

They immediately set to work on the matter, and eventually realize that the only way to stabilize the crystals is to subject them to high-frequency oscillations. Viktor takes Jayce's notebook with him when he leaves. SUMMARY Arcane fans believe that Jayce and Viktor had romantic feelings for each other, and quickly became a beloved ship.
